This page contains things that really didn't fit anywhere else. Screenshots Every so often I want to show somone what I'm using for a desktop, or what sort of theme I have worked out. I usually start with a neat wallpaper, often from kde-look.org, and work a color scheme and icon theme around that. Anyway, here are a few screenshots. I'll add dates to future ones. These are kind of old. 2005-12-10 - panel: I switched to a reddish theme recently. I like my new icon set, except the on-edge folders (see the icon on towards the left of the panel). 2005-09-11 - desktop: My desktop is now based around a new background I got from kde-look.org. I'm not sure I like the icon set I'm using, but I'll leave it for now. Konqueror file browser: I usually use the command line for file operations, but every so often a GUI is much faster. This setup took a little work from the default, and I find it very efficient. Amarok: This is the ultimate music playing software, available for unix variants from amarok.kde.org. It's improved in several ways since this screenshot. I'll get a new one up eventually. Desktop: This is one of my older desktops. The "taskbar" (which really doesn't have a taskbar) on the bottom is still pretty close to what I have now. 11 virtual desktops, each accessible with alt-# (~ is the 11th). Common applications like a terminal, web and mail get the same desktop each time (1, 2, and 3 respectively). I put all of my commonly used applications in one menu as shown. The application is The Gimp, an image editing program (in this case, it took the screen shot) |
